Enjoying the Sellaronda MTB Tour, for at least once in a lifetime
Touring around the Sella mountain range definitely is one of those experiences every cyclist dreams of. And whereas once it only used to be achievable for the most experienced cyclists, today it is also possible for mid-level bikers – owing to the lift facilities transporting their bikes to the Gardena Pass, Campolongo Pass, Pordoi Pass and Sella Pass. Good to know: There are two versions of the Sellaronda MTB Tour. One running clockwise for 58 km and with a difference in altitude of 450 m, and the other counterclockwise for 53 km and a difference in altitude of 900 m.
Cycling the Sellaronda MTB Tour counterclockwise, from Corvara to the Gardena Pass
With a length of 53 km and a difference in altitude of 900m, this is the most challenging variant of the Sellaronda MTB Tour which requires both exercise and technical preparation. However, joy and satisfaction are ensured as you pedal beneath the Saslonch/Sassolungo peak passing by the suggestive Stone City “Città dei Sassi”, followed by the Sella Pass, Pordoi Pass and Campolongo Pass. Quite spectacular!
Cycling the Sellaronda MTB Tour clockwise, from Corvara to the Passo Campolongo
The more gentle yet equally fascinating version runs from Corvara up to the Pralongià high plateau before descending to Arabba in the province of Belluno. And from here, you’ll encounter in sequence the Pordoi Pass, Sella Pass and Gardena Pass, where the descend leads you to the locality of Colfosco and finally to Corvara – a loop covering 58 km and a difference in altitude of 450m.
