Experiencing Alta Badia with your best friend

You, your dog and a dreamlike holiday

Spending a period in peace and serenity in the mountains is a real treat for the entire family, your dog included. To ensure that your holiday becomes an enjoyable adventure for everyone, we have prepared some useful tips and advice.

While travelling

Keep in mind that your dog needs some breaks to stretch out during the journey. Take a first-aid kit and the dog's health record with you. Once you have reached your destination, allow him some time to adjust to the climate of our mountains and then… off you go, discovering nature.

Identification and registration

According to Italian law, it is mandatory for dogs to be identifiable and registered in the canine registry of their municipality of residence or at the local health authority.

Shovel for dog waste, leash and muzzle

In every village and along the paths of Alta Badia you will find bins and bag dispensers for collecting your friend's droppings. Make sure you always pick them up and don't leave any waste along the trails: your dog's excrements pose a risk not only to humans, but also to other pets. It’s mandatory that your dog wears a muzzle on public transport and lifts.

Dog sitter

If you are planning a more challenging tour which is not suited to your dog, please feel free to ask our tourist offices for a list of dog sitters in our valley.

Dogs are not allowed in children's areas

In Alta Badia, you have plenty of trails and paths that are perfectly suited for taking your four-legged friend for a walk. We therefore kindly remind you that your pet is not allowed in children's playgrounds and the area of the biotope lake in Corvara.

Dog toilet

In order to contribute to environmental protection, minimise health risks and reduce conflicts in public spaces, dog toilets have been set up in all six of Alta Badia’s villages.

Veterinary

A holiday also benefits your four-legged friends. However, in the case of an emergency, you will find a qualified vet in Alta Badia.
