Alta Badia, a responsible valley

We give meaning to the word sustainability

Act consciously towards a common goal, in which hospitality is harmoniously combined with the surrounding environment. This is our goal, because the future of Alta Badia and the Dolomites can only exist through management, environmental, cultural and socio-economic practices that all have one common denominator: the quality of good living in a protected area. To this end, we have drawn up a sustainability manifesto and created the Alta Badia Action Plan. Follow us and help us, every small gesture can bear great fruit.

Our sustainability manifesto

Alta Badia Actionplan

Alta Badia, a sustainable destination

In Alta Badia we are working day after day to improve our tourist destination with a view to sustainability.

Being the fourth territorial reality in Italy along with Valsugana, Tarvisio and San Vigilio to receive the prestigious GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) certification means that the orchestration between tourism operators, institutions, locals and also the many guests who visit the valley is achieving concrete results. We are fully aware that this is only the beginning of a long journey, that after one goal there is immediately another to overcome and that environmental protection, responsibility towards the territory and hospitality must continue to be essential points of our doing. A doing that we want to share with you, guest who come to visit us and that with your concrete action you can contribute to give a fulfilled meaning to all the efforts we are undertaking. Giulan.

Alta Badia and the climate plan: an integrated strategy to reduce emissions

The Alta Badia Climate Plan project aims, in its first phase, to calculate the overall CO2 impact of the area.

This data, the cornerstone of the initiative, allows us to understand the status quo, so that we can then design and implement measures aimed at gradually reducing emissions, possibly trying to reduce them to zero and arrive at a situation where it is possible to return more of what is emitted to the environment. We started in April 2022 with a sample of more than 120 tourism operators, active in the different sectors of the industry, who were asked for precise information on consumption, travel and lifestyles, so that we could accurately determine Alta Badia's footprint. The data, which is still being processed by Etifor, is the fundamental basis for the implementation of a targeted reduction and compensation strategy that is effective and shared. The collaboration of private partners, including lift companies, tour operators, municipalities and companies, is an integral part of our journey towards a more sustainable Alta Badia.

A code of ethics for Alta Badia.

Alta Badia Brand, the consortium formed by the four partners - the Alta Badia Tourist Cooperative, the Alta Badia Cableways Consortium and the Organizing Committees of the World Ski Championships and the Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel has as its main objective the management and promotion of the Alta Badia brand on a national and international level. As an advocate and promoter of ethical and sustainable tourism, we have drawn up a Code of Ethics, i.e. a guideline for the ethical and sustainable behavior, processes and decisions of individual employees, managers and partners. The general principles are based on fundamental values such as legality and fairness in compliance with current regulations, professional ethics, the promotion of human resources, and on fundamental and inalienable values such as human rights, the physical, cultural and moral integrity of people, non-discrimination in employment on the grounds of sex, race, language, religion, political opinion, union membership, social and personal status, and we are committed every day to ensuring that everyone can express themselves without discrimination.
