Food is a global passe-partout. And in Alta Badia it has centuries-old origins

A poor, rural cuisine yet rich in values

The history of Ladin food consists of simple ingredients seasoned with patience, passion and ethical respect for all its elements. Savouring the delicacies of our region implies not only tasting something good, actually excellent – it also means appreciating its rural roots which form a significant piece of Alta Badia's identity.

The meaning of being a Ladin today

It is easy to talk about the bond with the territory. But what does it actually entail?

In Alta Badia, this connection can be seen in two intertwined ways: first, there is the natural environment in which lush green forests and pastures blend with the rocks of the Dolomites. Second, there is the language which originates from the fusion of the Latin and Rhaetian culture and has been preserved and developed over the millennia.

Making hay the old-fashioned way to then all meet in the stable, diving into Ladin history and memory.

Ossi e Robert sono due fratelli molto sportivi a cui piace la vita dei contadini. Se il tempo lo permette prima ti portano in mezzo ai campi a fare il fieno e dopo in stalla a respirare aria di maso. Vera vita ladina.
